Ask for edit access
Viewers can ask for edit access to a workspace, and the team’s admins approve or decline it in one click.
Ask for it
You’ll find “Request edit access” in two places:
- Beside the Ask Stetto bar. It sits next to “View only”, where editors have their tools.
- In “Share”. That’s the button at the top right.
Click it, and your team’s admins hear about it by email and in Stetto. Asking again while you wait doesn’t change anything.
When an admin approves, you get an email. If you’re in the workspace at the time, Stetto offers “Reload” so you can start editing straight away.
If an admin declines, you can ask again the next day.
Answer a request (admins)
A dot on “Share” means someone is asking. You’ll also get an email with a button that opens “Share”.
- Click “Share”. Requests are listed under “Asking to edit”, each with when it was made.
- Click “Approve” or “Decline”.
Approving makes them an editor of that workspace, which takes an editor seat. If your plan’s seats are all taken, Stetto tells you. Viewers stay free. See Seats.
Good to know
- Access is per workspace. Approving a request gives edit access to the workspace it was asked from, and every deck in it.
- Giving edit access another way closes the request. If you give someone edit access in “Share” or in Settings, “People”, their request closes too.
Who can do this
Viewers ask. Team admins approve or decline. See Roles: admin, editor, viewer.
