Help Frames

Move, resize, scale and remove a frame

Move a frame with its cards, resize it, scale its cards along with it, or remove it and keep the cards.

Move

Drag the frame by its label, just above its top-left corner (“Drag to move the frame and its cards”). Its cards come along.

  • Loose cards it lands on stay loose. They move out from under it rather than being taken in. Only moving a card changes which frame it’s in. See Which cards belong to a frame.
  • Other frames slide aside. A frame it lands on moves out of the way with its cards, so frames never overlap.
  • It never lands on a locked card. It stops clear of it. See Lock a card.
  • Guides help you line it up. They show when it lines up with other frames and loose cards.

Resize

Select the frame and drag a handle. Only the frame changes, and its cards stay where they are. Hold Shift to keep its proportions. If it grows into another frame, it pushes that one aside.

Scale with its cards

To make a whole section bigger or smaller, use the scale tool. Press K, or choose “Scale a frame with its cards” in the toolbar, then drag a selected frame’s handle.

  • Each card’s place and size, and the gaps between them, stretch with the frame, live as you drag.
  • Cards stop at their smallest size, and locked cards stay as they are.
  • Shift keeps the proportions.
  • The tool stays on until you press V or Escape.

Remove

Select the frame and choose “Remove frame (keeps the cards)” in the right panel, or press Delete. Its cards stay where they are and go back to their own dates, comparison and region.

Undo puts any of these back in one step. See Undo and redo.

Good to know

  • With auto layout on, frames take their place in the grid. You can’t resize them by hand then. See Auto layout.
  • Stetto can help. Ask it to rename, change or remove a frame. See Organize a deck into frames.

Who can do this

Editors and admins. See Roles: admin, editor, viewer.
