Help Arranging the canvas
Align, distribute, match, tidy
Line up the cards and frames you’ve selected from the right panel or the keyboard, or tidy a whole deck in one go. Whichever you use, cards never end up overlapping.
With several selected
Select two or more cards or frames, and the right panel offers these:
- Align. “Align left” (⌥A), “Align horizontal centers” (⌥H), “Align right” (⌥D), “Align top” (⌥W), “Align vertical middles” (⌥V) and “Align bottom” (⌥S).
- Distribute. “Distribute horizontal spacing” (⌥⇧H) and “Distribute vertical spacing” (⌥⇧V) even out the gaps. They need three or more.
- Match. “Match width” and “Match height” make the cards the same size. A selected frame’s cards don’t count, so you’ll need two loose cards.
- Tidy. “Tidy up” (⌃⌥T) lines the selection up in neat rows.
On Windows, use Alt for ⌥, and Ctrl+Alt+T to tidy up.
How they treat frames and locked cards
- A selected frame moves as one box. Its cards come with it, and it keeps its size.
- Locked cards stay where they are. The panel tells you when one is selected. See Lock a card.
- Tidy up moves only what’s selected. Selected cards inside a frame line up with its edge and flow around its other cards. A frame keeps the size you drew it, and only grows when its cards don’t fit. Rows line up with any locked cards in them.
- Nothing ends up on top of anything else. Whatever the result would overlap is pushed aside.
Each one is a single undo step. See Undo and redo.
Tidy the whole deck
With nothing selected, look in the right panel’s “Arrange” section for “Or just tidy up, keeping sizes”. It tidies every card and frame on the deck, and leaves their sizes alone.
With auto layout on
Auto layout already places every card, so these tools are dimmed and the panel says “Auto layout is arranging this deck.” Turn it off when you want to align by hand. See Auto layout.
Who can do this
Editors and admins. See Roles: admin, editor, viewer.
