Help Profit and costs

Why profit cards wait

A profit card waits until it has a real cost for every product it counts, because Stetto never treats a missing cost as zero.

What you see

In place of its number, the card says “Add your product costs (Settings, Costs) to see profit.” If your costs are in but some products are still missing one, it names a product that has no cost yet.

Team admins get “Add costs” on the card, which opens Settings, “Costs”. See Enter product costs.

A template whose cards need costs says so in its tag, “Needs product costs”, and still drops in whole. Its profit cards fill in once the costs are there. See Use a template.

Why it waits

A product with no cost would count as free. Your margins would look better than they are, and you’d only find out when the money didn’t arrive. Waiting is the honest answer.

Which products a card needs

A card needs a cost for every product sold in its dates, within its filters. So a card on the last 7 days can show its number while one on the last 12 months still waits for a product that sold back then.

To clear every card at once, fill in every product on the Costs page. Under the table, Stetto says how many products “still need a cost.” Products that last sold more than 12 months ago are listed last, by name, because a card reaching back that far still needs them.

Good to know

  • Import from Shopify first. It fills in every product that has a “Cost per item” in Shopify, so you only type the rest. See Enter product costs.
  • Per-order costs don’t clear the wait. Shipping and payment fees are separate from product costs. See Per-order costs.

Who can do this

Team admins add costs, and everyone sees the cards fill in. See Roles: admin, editor, viewer.
