Help Profit and costs
Enter product costs
Add what each product costs you, and Stetto works out gross profit, contribution profit and the rest. You can import costs from Shopify or type them in.
Import from Shopify
In Settings, “Costs”, click “Import from Shopify”. Stetto reads each product’s “Cost per item” from every store you’ve connected. It averages each product across its variants and converts at the latest rates.
Anything Shopify has no cost for keeps the cost you typed in. When it’s done, Stetto tells you how it went, like how many products it imported costs for and how many have none in Shopify.
Type them in
The “Cost per unit” table in Settings, “Costs” lists what you sold in the last 12 months, best sellers first. Each product shows its average selling price, so you can see the margin as you type. Older products follow by name, because a profit card reaching back to when they sold still needs their cost.
Enter costs in your reporting currency.
From a card
A profit card waiting for costs says so. Admins get “Add costs” on the card, which opens the same page. See Why profit cards wait.
Good to know
- Stetto never assumes a product costs nothing. Until its cost is in, a margin that needs it waits rather than show a number that’s too good. See Why profit cards wait.
- Other costs go on the same page. Shipping, payment fees and other per-order costs are set there too. See Per-order costs.
Who can do this
Team admins. Everyone else can see the costs but not change them. See Roles: admin, editor, viewer.
