Two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication asks for a 6-digit code from an app on your phone each time you sign in. That way, a password alone isn’t enough to get into your account.
Turn it on
- In Settings, choose “Signing in”, then “Turn on two-factor”.
- Open an authenticator app. 1Password, Google Authenticator, Authy and your phone’s Passwords app all work.
- Scan the QR code, or type in the key shown under it.
- Type the 6-digit code the app shows, then click “Turn on”.
Once it’s on, your other devices need a code before they’ll show any data again.
Signing in with it
After your password, or after Continue with Google, Stetto asks you to “Enter your code”. Open your authenticator app and type the 6-digit code it shows for Stetto.
Turn it off
In Settings, “Signing in”, click “Turn off”, then “Turn off two-factor”. After that, signing in needs only your password or Google.
Lost your phone?
On the code screen, “Lost your authenticator?” points you to support. Email support@getstetto.com from your account’s address and we’ll take two-factor off your account, so you can sign in and set it up again.
Good to know
- The database itself checks it, not just the app. A session that hasn’t entered its code sees no data at all. See Security and privacy.
- It’s per person. Turning it on protects only your account, so each teammate turns on their own.
